Zanu-PF and the MDC-T in the inclusive Government will never mix just like fire and water, President Mugabe has said.
In an exclusive interview with The People's Voice at the Party Headquarters last Friday, President Mugabe said while Zanu-PF continued to defend the peoples' sovereignty and rights against colonisers and imperialists, the MDC-T members had remained stooges and boot-lickers of the country's former colonisers.
"There have always been differences between us. Zanu-PF is the true fighter for the people and their rights and the MDC uphold the interests of imperialists and colonialists thereby working against the people and their rights," said President Mugabe.
"This is the distinction between Zanu-PF and MDC-T and that is how we are moving along.
"But we get solace from the science of electricity where one needs a positive and a negative to get power," said the President.
President Mugabe reiterated that Zanu-PF's enemies were the imperialists, the British and the Americans while for MDC-T the enemies were Zanu-PF and the people of Zimbabwe.
He said while Zanu-PF was a strong revolutionary Party opposed to imperialism, the MDC-T was upholding imperialists policies in the country.
"What are your objectives? What do you stand for? If you do not stand for the right of the people to own their resources, then you are in the same camp with the enemies of the people," said President Mugabe.
"The people have the right to determine their own future.
President Mugabe said the present situation required people to work for the greater unity of the Party, consolidating what has been achieved and demonstrating that Zanu-PF was not only the proponent of Zimbabwe's independence but its defender as well.
He described Zanu-PF as a revolutionary Party whose principles and objectives were people oriented and said that ordinary Zimbabweans should continue to play a leading role in the fight against imperialism and everything it represents.
"We have women and the young people, the wings which should continue to make the Party fly higher."
Noting that the country recently celebrated 30 years of independence, President Mugabe said the government had made tremendous successes in the education, health and defence sector.
He chronicled events leading to the land reform programme and said the land reform programme partially empowered the people and that the current indigenisation and economic empowerment drive would complement the land reform programme.
"We realised that what lay beneath the land like the minerals were still in the hands of foreigners," said President Mugabe.
"Manufacturing industries and distribution companies are also still in the hands of foreigners.
