Knives out for Zanu-PF MP
06 Jan 2015 at 07:59hrs | Views
Pressure is mounting for the reversal of the controversial nomination of Muzvezve MP Peter Haritos into the Zanu-PF central committee at the party congress last month on allegations he was imposed without being subjected to an election.
Party functionaries also accuse the legislator of abusing his vast wealth to fan factionalism, corrupt various government and party institutions.
Zanu-PF Kadoma district chairpersons in a petition to Acting President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Women's League boss Grace Mugabe gleaned yesterday allege Haritatos has links to embattled former VP Joice Mujuru and newly appointed administration secretary Ignatius Chombo and was plotting Mnangagwa's downfall.
