INTER-PARTY violence reared its ugly head in Harare on Sunday leaving three MDC-T activists seriously injured while six others were arrested after they clashed with ruling party youths in Budiriro suburb.
The MDC-T yesterday claimed its party members were attacked while campaigning in the high-desnity area.
"The victims of the unwarranted attacks are Johanna Mamombe, Harare West district youth secretary, Bernard Ncube, Harare West district chair, and Tangai Magawa, Hatfield district youth chair," the party said.
The main opposition party said the attacks were led by Zanu-PF Harare youth chairman Godfrey Gomwe.
"The rowdy Zanu-PF youths, led by their Harare province chairman Gomwe, attacked our youth for merely wearing the party regalia and carrying out visibility programmes in Budiriro. They ordered MDC youths to remove their T-shirts," the party claimed.
Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba was not immediately available for comment.
