Chiefs have vowed to take all necessary measures to confront President Robert Mugabe's administration after government failed to review their perks.

This comes after the Zanu-PF leader assured the traditional leaders at their annual conference in Gweru last that government would meet their demands "in a matter of weeks", but nothing has been delivered to-date four months later.

The chiefs who had in the tense build up to their conference, written to Mugabe threatening to boycott the gathering, demanding brand new cars, farms and an increase in allowances in the hope that the incumbent would press his cash-strapped administration to cough up.

The chiefs have also vowed to approach Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa, over the issue, whom they accuse of neglecting them.
