MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai caused a stir in Harare's Budiriro high-density suburb yesterday when he stormed a Zanu-PF terror base to investigate the violent clashes that occurred in the area over the weekend involving youths from both parties.

Tempers flared up in the high-density suburb when after meeting party supporters at local MP Costa Machingauta's House, Tsvangirai's motorcade sped towards the Zanu-PF's terror base at Budiriro 4 shopping centre in the process disrupting a netball match involving some middle aged women clad in Zanu-PF regalia.

Tsvangirai yesterday warned of a snowball effect if the intermittent bouts of violence are left to continue.

The former prime minister said this during his visit to alleged victims of political violence and extortion by Zanu-PF youths in the sprawling political hot-bed of Budiriro that led to the arrest of four opposition activists amid accusations of selective application of the law by police.

It is very sad development because they thought after 2013 the issue of political violence was past us and no one would have thought violence would flare again in an MDC dominated area.

Tsvangirai warned that the continuation of incidences of violence might spiral into uncontrollable social upheaval in the country.
