A senior Zanu-PF official in Mashonaland West is reportedly being investigated by police for selling residential stands to multiple buyers.

According to sources, Zanu-PF Mashonaland West deputy economic affairs secretary Simon Solomon, who is chairman of Pixie Combe Housing Scheme, allegedly sold the stands to multiple homeseekers and pocketed the money.

The alleged scam, sources said, has seen at least 115 stands, both commercial and residential, being illegally repossessed before being disposed of other unsuspecting prospective buyers. Solomon declined to comment over the issue.

"Why are you forcing me to have an interview with you?" he charged before cutting off his mobile phone.

Some of the affected stand owners said they bought their properties in 2006 at the inception of the housing scheme and had religiously paid monthly instalments, but had their stands illegally repossessed before being sold to other clients.

Some stands were sold to at least three individuals, sources said.
