The Welshman Ncube led MDC has denied reports that it was mulling plans to pass a vote of no confidence on under fire party secretary general Priscilla Misihairabwi Mushonga.
Mushonga has reportedly fallen on Ncube's wrong side for allegedly backing Tendai Biti from MDC Renewal to lead the united MDC when the two parties merge sometime this year.
There were reports that as a result of her betrayal, Matabeleland South wanted to remove Misihairabwi Mushonga from Parliament. She got into Parliament through the proportional representation system under the province in the 2013 elections.
"Matabeleland South Province hereby advises members of the MDC family and the general public that there is absolutely no truth in the suggestion made in an article which appeared in the Chronicle and Herald editions of 20 January 2015, alleging that we as the MDC Matabeleland South province are mulling a Provincial council meeting to consider the recall of the MDC Secretary General and Matabeleland South party women's quarter representative in the National Assembly, Hon. P Priscila Misihairabwi –Mushonga from Parliament," the party said in a statement.
"We place it on record that such a suggestion has not been mooted by the MDC Matabeleland South Province or any of its leaders."
