THE ZANU-PF Politburo meets tomorrow to discuss several issues affecting the party and the nation at large.
Secretary for Administration Ignatius Chombo yesterday confirmed that the Politburo will meet at its usual venue at the party's national headquarters.
The last Politburo meeting was held on January 28 just before President Mugabe left for the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he was elected chairperson of the Pan-African organisation.
It was the first meeting of the party organ since the successful 6th National People's Congress held in December last year.
The meeting set up a six-member national disciplinary committee that was tasked with deliberating on the fate of former secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa, who faces expulsion for utterances deemed to undermine the party and its leadership.
The disciplinary committee established in terms of the party constitution will also look into other disciplinary issues to be brought before the party in future.
It is chaired by Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko and includes Secretary for Legal Affairs Patrick Chinamasa, Secretary for the Commissariat Saviour Kasukuwere, Secretary for Security Kembo Mohadi, Secretary for Women's Affairs Grace Mugabe and Secretary for Youths Pupurai Togarepi.
Mutasa's home province of Manicaland and his Headlands Constituency wrote to the Politburo recently calling for the former Presidential Affairs Minister's expulsion from the party for a range of indiscretions that include confronting the party over the party's December congress which he said was unconstitutional, bringing the name of the party and its leadership into disrepute, corruption, dictatorial tendencies and abuse of women and under-age girls.
