MDC legislator comes out guns blazing, blasts Mugabe govt

One of the senators from the Welshman Ncube led formation of the Movement for Democratic Change Mrs Tholakele Dorothy Khumalo has come out guns blazing against the Robert Mugabe led government and Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe's incapacity to deal with various debtors owing several banks and lending institutions.

Presenting a motion in senate last week Mrs Khumalo described the Reserve of Zimbabwe as a toothless bull dog that can only bark but incapacitated to act due to lack of political will.

"The RBZ due to its weak balance sheet is no longer Banker of last resort and cannot effectively participate in the inter bank market and influence its monetary policy.

Madam president,i am not calling for the punishment of banks and creditors but I am calling for the government to be proactive and come up with strategies to help the situation" charged Tholakele Khumalo who is also the party's secretary for Industry and Economic Development.

Mrs Tholakele's motion has come at a time most companies that had borrowed large sums of money have been failing to pay back loans to various banks and lending institutions.

There has been a rise in litigation cases because of the ailing economy that is currently pressing most businesses down. Industry in Zimbabwe has virtually collapsed and can only rise if the Robert Mugabe government rises to protect businesses that have been failing to pay back loans to various financial institutions.

Mrs Khumalo is wife to vibrant and energetic nationalist Jefret Khumalo who is also the party's national deputy secretary for International relations in the MDC led by Professor Welshman Ncube. The party is currently fruitful talks with the Renewal team currently led by madam Sekai Holland.
