Zanu-PF supporters to confront Mugabe

In a move that could widen fissures in Zanu-PF, disgruntled party supporters plan to demonstrate against continued harassment of party officials perceived to be loyal to Mujuru.
Sources say the disaffected party members would also concomitantly petition Mugabe over the ongoing brutal purges of popularly elected party officials accused of being part of the murky plot to oust and assassinate the nonagerian.
Meanwhile, more Zanu-PF districts are expected to be constituted during the ongoing party restructuring being carried out in line with a directive issued by the national political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere early last month.
Provincial executives across the country said due to the creation of more suburbs and homesteads, additional districts were expected to be formed.
Zanu-PF Harare provincial secretary for the commissariat Shadreck Mashayamombe said the ongoing expansion of the city was expected to be reflected through the additional party districts.
He said restructuring of cells had been completed in many areas except for northern suburbs where the process was slow.
Mashonaland central provincial chairperson Dickson Mafios said they would hold a provincial coordinating committee meeting today to consider the list of new cell executives that they had received.
Midlands provincial commissar Makhosini Hlongwane said the bulk of the province had completed restructuring. He said the delay in some areas was caused by rains that made them difficult to access.
Mashonaland West provincial chairperson Ziyambi Ziyambi said cell elections would be completed this week.
