The Zanu-PF Mashonaland East interim provincial executive has summoned all its nine primary election candidates to a meeting today to apprise them of the selection criteria as jostling for the Hwedza North constituency by-election hots up.

The seat fell vacant following the death of incumbent MP Simon Musanhu in January this year.

According to the Newsday, Zanu-PF plans to hold its primary elections next Wednesday ahead of the by-election set for May 15.

Interim chairperson Aeneas Chigwedere yesterday  said that the meeting would be held in Hwedza.

Chigwedere, however, declined to disclose the names of aspiring candidates although sources said Apolonia Munzverengi, Fanny Chigwedere and Anthony Parehwa had submitted their CVs for consideration.
