Zanu-PF wins Chipinge council election

Zanu-PF council candidate in the Chipinge Rural District Council Samuel Manyange has won the ward one council election with 991 votes against other three contenders.

Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) publicized yesterday that  Manyange won the election against Munyaradzi Mazuze of the national Constitutional Assembly (NCA) who got 195 votes, Muchinawo Chimana of Transform Zimbabwe who got 123 and Samuel Henry Masayiti and independent who got 80 votes.

"Manyange Samuel of Zanu-PF party who received the majority of votes was declared the duly elected councilor for ward 1 with effect from February 27, 2015," reads the notice signed by Zec Chief Elections Officer Utloile Silaigwana.

The MDC-T, MDC, Zapu, MDC Renewal and Mavambo Kusile Dawn did not field candidates in the poll.
