MDC official files notice to sue ZNA

MDC youth assembly Happymore Chidziva has filed a notice of intention to sue the army after he was allegedly assaulted by five members of the force last month.

In a March 30, 2015 notice addressed to Defence minister, Sydney Sekeramayi, Chidziva intends to sue the ZNA for damages in terms of Section 6 of the State Liabilities Act.

This comes after Chidziva who was driving a motor vehicle with an MDC logo was approached by soldiers clad in their army fatigues and black berets, ordered him to disembark from the vehicle.

When he refused the soldiers dragged him out of the vehicle calling him a sell-out as they brutally assaulted him with open hands, fists and booted feet.

They only fled after a police officer arrived at the scene.
