Mujuru expelled from Zanu-PF

The Zanu-PF Politburo has resolved to expel former Vice President Joice Mujuru from the party for indiscipline.

The Politburo meeting, which ended this evening at the Zanu-PF headquarters in Harare, resolved to expel Dr Mujuru and to uphold the votes of no confidence handed to some party members prior to last year's congress.

Dr Mujuru was fired from government after the party's December Congress, and stands accused of leading a faction that wanted to depose President Robert Mugabe.

Other party members, among them Didymus Mutasa, Rugare Gumbo, Jabulani Sibanda and Themba Mliswa have since been expelled from Zanu-PF
