Mnangagwa dismiss Zanu-PF split claims

Acting President Emmerson Mnangagwa has dismissed rumours peddled by the private media that Zanu-PF has split into two as false and unfounded.

Addressing thousands of people at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo, Mnangagwa said those who tend to grow bigger than the party will always find themselves out, as Zanu-PF's constitution is clear on how members should conduct themselves.

Mnangagwa lashed out at Joice Mujuru, Didymus Mutasa, Rugare Gumbo and Themba Mliswa over their futile bid to take Zanu-PF to court over allegations of unfair dismissal from the party.

The Acting President thanked the people of Masvingo for Zanu-PF's landslide victory in the July 2013 harmonised elections and called on churches to continuously cultivate the spirit of Unhu/Ubuntu in society.

Masvingo Minister of State, Shuvai Mahofa said Emmerson Mnangagwa, whose Chimurenga names ranged from Trabablas to Ruka Chivende and Smart Tembo, was a gallant fighter of the liberation struggle whose works should be etched in Zimbabwe's history.

Chiefs Council President, Fortune Charumbira and Zanu-PF Politburo member, Josiah Hungwe commended the party's decision to fire some counter-revolutionary members of the Mujuru cabal for unorthodox behaviour.

Earlier on, Acting President Mnangagwa held a brief meeting with senior party and government officials at Benjamin Burombo government complex before touring Shakashe Bridge and the railway leading to the station where he and fellow comrade, Mathews or Marowa used TNT explosives to detonate a Rhodesian steam locomotive.

Thereafter, he officially commissioned the Trabablas historical tourism enshrinement at Masvingo railway station before visiting the late nationalist, Dr Simon Muzenda's war-time homestead.
