Zanu-PF Mashonaland East Province has recommended to the revolutionary party's Politburo that Marondera Central legislator and former provincial chairperson Ray Kaukonde be expelled from the party following complaints from his constituency.

The call to fire Kaukonde follows a similar request by Zanu-PF Mashonaland Central province to have Mbire legislator David Butau expelled from the party on allegations of belonging to the Joice Mujuru-led cabal accused of plotting to topple President Mugabe.

Mashonaland East acting provincial chairperson Aeneas Chigwedere confirmed the development saying the decision now rested with the Politburo.

Chigwedere said they will meet today as the provincial coordinating committee and may recommend the expulsion of more people linked to the Mujuru cabal.

Mashonaland Central provincial chairman Dickson Mafios said the provincial coordinating committee resolved to recommend Butau's expulsion after meeting on Saturday.
