Zanu-PF in recruitment freeze

Zanu-PF secretary for administration Ignatius Chombo has ordered a freeze in staff recruitment in the party land launched a staff audit to flush out perceived ghost workers amid suspicion that the exercise was targeted at sympathisers of ousted former Vice President Joice Mujuru.

In a circular dated March 18 2015 and addressed to all departments and addressed to all departments and provinces copied to President Robert Mugabe and his two deputies Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phekezela Mphoko, Chombo said the recruitment freeze had been necessitated by the need to audit the party's staffing levels.

Zanu-PF has a staff complement of over 1 650 workers stationed at its headquarters in Harare and 10 provincial district offices throughout the country.
