Zanu-PF youths on Tuesday night reportedly invaded a farm and lodge belonging to independent candidate Temba Mliswa as the battle for Hurungwe West constituency gets murkier.

Analysts says the battle between Mliswa as an independent candidate against his former party Zanu-PF is crucial as it tests the ruling party's power base against that of the People First movement that is linked to ousted former Vice President Joice Mujuru.

Mliswa claimed that some youths from his former party broke into his Karoi lodge and slept there.

The invasion of Mliswa's farm came on the eve of the Sadc extraordinary conference held in Harare yesterday.
