The MDC activists in Zimbabwe on April 28 remembered one of the founding vibrant member Learnmore Jongwe who died in the early 2000s while in prison after he allegedly killed his wife accusing her of infidelity.

Daniel Molokele said he remembered the day when Jongwe was born as he used to congratulate him for his birth day.

"28 April 1974. Learnmore Judah Jongwe. I was meant to be sending you my warmest birthday wishes," he said.

"But alas! Instead tears of sorrow flow endlessly from my eyes. Endless pain echoes from my heart. I so much wish your life had not ended in such tragic circumstances. Once again I promise you today that I will continue to do what I have been doing for so many years both privately and publicly following up all the issues you left unresolved. I want your mother. Your daughter. Your family. Your in laws."

Molokele said indeed all the people of Zimbabwe and Africa one day should look straight into his heart and eyes and sincerely thank him for his years of tireless efforts.

"I want them to openly say to me Fortune Daniel, you have indeed been such a good and faithful friend," he said. "Even beyond the power of the grave. It's because one day when I also pass on, I want to be remembered not just as your true friend. Much more I want to be remembered not just as your comrade but also as your BROTHER."

Molokele said this is not about defending Jongwe.

Arthur Gwagwa said he have  not been able to come to terms with what happened to Jongwe.

"He was a young man who had everything to live for. I can also not rule out circumstances beyond his control such as evil spirits and even mental health issues , though it's a taboo to discuss these issues," he said.

Charity Charehwa said, "But one thing that I fail to understand is why celebrate this man. How do you think the family of his wife feels. Honestly, I dont understand," she said.

"I grew up in Mkoba 13, 7 houses away from Learnmore Jongwe's house. Contrary to what you say, he was never a nice man, in the community. I also did had a prolonged encounter with him when I stayed at Montague Flats in the Avenues where as a married he was sleeping with a student there and trying to win the love the girl of whom he has always loved who also lived at the same place, Shyrene Ziswa."

She said Everyone who knows Learnmore they know that this is girl that he ever loved). I never understood that behaviour, but as they say, afa anaka.

"I am pretty sure we will be hearing fantastic eulogies once Mugabe has died. Hope eulogising Jongwe will do some mileage to your political fortunes," she said.
