Media expert and political commentator has said the electoral reforms which the opposition political parties yearn for will not help without the a situation where far reaching regime instability is attained.

The remarks come at a time when the MDC formations in the country have since boycotted participating in the June 10 by elections and any elections which will come before the electoral reforms have been made.

The MDCs are accusing the ruling Zanu PF for violating electoral laws and refusing to harmonise the laws to the new constitution.

The MDC-T claim that since year 2000 Zanu PF has been cheating it of its victory which means if the elections continue to be held under such conditions there will be no opposition political party which will wrestle power from Zanu PF.

The belief in the opposition parties is that when the electoral laws are put in place and mechanisms to ensure that those laws are implemented and followed that would mean democratic processes would be possible in the country.

But the Media Scholar and political commentator Pedzisayi Ruhanya through his social media post said electoral reforms alone will not help the situation.

"Electoral Reforms alone without far reaching regime instability will not bring a democratic breakthrough," he said. "Regime stability even with electoral reforms will see a ZANU PF victory in 2018! Regime instability without electoral reforms can lead to a transitional breakthrough!"
