Social commentators have challenged the Zanu PF government to make sure that the land policy benefits all Zimbabweans not only those who are affiliated to the ruling party.
This comes in the work of Zanu PF members and youths reportedly thronging former Hurungwe West MP Temba Mliswa and former Headlands MP Didymas Mutasa's farms threatening to take them because the two are no longer Zanu PF members.
Mliswa and Mutasa were expelled from Zanu PF at the same time on allegations of being aligned to former Vice President Joice Mujuru who is being accused of plotting to oust president Robert Mugabe through unconstitutional means.
Mutasa, Mujuru and former Zanu PF spokesperson Rugare Gumbo are reportedly to have resolved to form their party called Zanu People First.
Nyarai Nyagomo said through her social network post that Zimbabwe Land Policy must be a Government policy that serves all Zimbabweans regardless of their political affiliations, gender, race or creed.
She said Mliswa's farm was being seized from him just because he was expelled from Zanu PF.
Kumbirai Rutsate said land to the people not to politicians as he rally behind Nyagomo's view.
Tendai Chikandura said this is the kind of policy that have dragged Zimbabwe down and eroded patriotism to Zimbabwe which should override all other political considerations.
"This is the rope round our necks where merit or competence are disregarded in favor of loyalty and allegiance to an individual," said Chikandura. "Why are our people treated like kids with no ability to make mature independent decisions? It's Mliswa today and who is next irrespective of what production and jobs are at stake?"
"Mliswa's difficulties and problems arising out of how he made use of the land distribution programme have nothing to do with ZANU(PF) or any political party for that matter. Zanu PF," he said seemingly to be defending the party..
Addmore Makunura said considering the fact that Zanu PF has all along been saying land reform is not reversible now that they are taking that land from fellow natives that means the land reform is now reversible.
"So is the land reform Programme reversible? Now I'm confused!" he said.
Fungayi Mutasa said what is needed was an independent land audit and thereafter embark on a proper land reform.
Stanford Hove said all things that were acquired deviously will not last.
"Joice Mujuru corruptly smugled in Telecel to Zimbabwe in return for shares. Now that she is no longer in government, the company has lost the licence," he said.
Lari Shumba said it was unfortunately that Mliswa in this case he is simply "tasting his own medicine."
Mukunda Musesengwa said, "But the land is for Zimbabweans not Zanu Pf members only. Although I don't feel sorry for the likes of Temba Mliswa. He was an arrogant man."
