Stalin Mau Mau backs Zanu-PF's Mavis Gumbo

Following the High Court judgement which set the stage for a bruising electoral fight pitting two rival Zanu-PF parliamentary candidates when it allowed Terrence Mukupe and Mavis Gumbo to both contest the Harare East by-election on the ruling party ticket.

Former aspiring candidate for the same seat Stalin Mau Mau who has since backed Gumbo ahead of Terrence Mukupe said he is fully behind the candidature of Gumbo and called on the electorate to vote her into office.

Harare province youth chairperson Godwin Gomwe said Mukupe who is battling for the same seat with Gumbo is a person who has no proven track record in the party.

Come June 10, the by-election for Harare East will be on where people will choose their preferred candidate to take their issues to the august house until 2018.

Addressing hundreds of party supporters in Caledonia at her star rally which was attended by a high powered delegation from Harare province, Gumbo said she will do all in her power to ensure unemployed youths in the constituency benefit through development programmes.
