Zanu-PF says the June 10 parliamentary by-elections must reaffirm the people's support for Zanu-PF.
The call to consolidate Zanu-PF's dominance was made by Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who was addressing party supporters at Dzivarasekwa stadium during the Harare province parliamentary by-election campaign launch.
Mnangagwa said the call by the western backed MDC to boycott elections is a reflection of the party's ideological bankruptcy.
In voting for Zanu-PF, the electorate was also urged to consider the rot and mismanagement perpetrated by the MDC-led local authorities which have brought service delivery to an all-time low.
Mnangagwa's campaign trail also took him to Kambuzuma where Tinashe Maduza is the party's candidate, to Highfield where the party's Deputy Director of Information and Publicity Psychology Maziwisa is contesting and Harare East where Terrence Mukupe is the party candidate.
Dzivarasekwa constituency is represented by Omega Hungwe who is the party's Deputy National Political Commissar.
