Six Zanu-PF members eye Mash East chair

A TOTAL of six candidates Zanu-PF are vying for Mashonaland East provincial chair in elections set for this Saturday.
The seek to take over fired Marondera Central MP, Ray Kaukonde.
Kaukonde and several other provincial officials were ousted on accusations of working with former Vice-President Joice Mujuru in an attempt to topple President Robert Mugabe from power.
The province had been under the leadership of an interim executive for six months.
According to ZBC, interim chairperson, Aeneas Chigwedere, the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Joel Biggie Matiza, Chikomba East MP Edgar Mbwembwe, Philemon Mutongi, Sydney Mususa and Wilbert Nyarugwe have expressed interest in the chairmanship position.
Successful candidates will be announced on Tuesday.
In the women's league, Apolonea Munzverengwi and Beater Nyamupinga are vying for the chairperson's post.
In the youth league, five candidates have expressed interest in the chairman's post.
