Zanu-PF elections held in Mashonaland East Province have ushered in a new provincial executive, amid calls by senior party leaders for the dawn of a new dispensation.

Joel Biggie Matiza is the new Zanu-PF Provincial Chairman, while Apronia Munzwerengwi and Kelvin Mutsvairo were elected to head the Women's League and Youth League in the province respectively.

Meanwhile, ZBC board member and prominent academic, Professor Charity Manyeruke also made it to the provincial executive as the new Secretary for Administration in the Women's League.

In his acceptance speech, Biggie Matiza called on all party members to work in unity, saying elected leaders should prioritise the needs of ordinary people more than their own.

Zanu-PF's top leadership comprising National Political Commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere and Politburo members; Edna Madzongwe and Sydney Sekeramayi hailed the new executive as a redefining moment in Mashonaland East province.

The province embarked on the restructuring exercise after the leadership aligned to expelled former Vice President Joice Mujuru was dissolved after the December congress.
