Zanu-PF race hots up for Harare chair

Factional fights in Zanu-PF are escalating in Harare as party members aligned to different leaders jostle for the powerful and influential position of provincial chairperson.

At least four candidates are doing battle for the post as restructuring takes centre stage in Harare.

Current Zanu-PF Harare political commissar Shadreck Mashayamombe is leading the race to become the provincial chairperson, Godwills Masimirembwa is also plotting a comeback after being booted out last month for fanning factionalism and misleading senior party officials.
