The ongoing 290th session of the Zanu-PF Politburo is discussing wide-ranging issues including the massive dismissal of workers after the July 17 Supreme Court ruling allowing employers to lay-off workers on three month's notice without any packages being paid.

Speaking to the ZBC News, the Zanu-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Simon Khaya Moyo said a bill will be tabled in parliament soon to amend the labour law to cushion workers.

Khaya Moyo said the Politburo spoke high about the land barons who are extorting money from home seekers and has tasked the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Saviour Kasukuwere to end the rot.

Kasukuwere has also been tasked to immediately stop the mushrooming of illegal settlements in urban areas, citing Caledonia in Harare as an example.

He said the Politburo has instructed that land barons extorting money from home seekers should be investigated and that law enforcement agents will soon descend on them.

Also discussed during today's meeting was the recent Zanu-PF victories in by-elections and the forthcoming by-elections to be held in Marondera Central, Epworth and Mbire.

He said opposition parties in the country are now in disarray and the revolutionary party should now consolidate its position and remain united and continue restructuring its party organs.

The Politburo has also resolved that this year's Zanu-PF National People's Conference will be held in Matabeleland North Province and the dates and venue will be announced in due course.
