The Zanu-PF parliamentary caucus met at the party headquarters where Masvingo proportional representation member Anna Rungani, was nominated as the Deputy Chief Whip in parliament, taking over from Mandi Chimene, who was appointed Manicaland Provincial Affairs Minister.
Outgoing Chief Whip Joram Gumbo, who was appointed Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development during last week's Cabinet reshuffle, confirmed the development saying his successor would be appointed by the party leadership soon.
Gumbo said other issues that were discussed include the issue of the availability of inputs to farmers in the forthcoming season, resuscitation of the railway system and construction of roads especially the Beitbridge-Harare and Harare-Chirundu roads.
