A social Commentator on Face Book, Farai Kuveya has challenged the Zimbabweans to rise against the misrule which he claim to have drawn the country into economic quagmire.

Kuveya said one week is a very long time in politics.

"Over the last 2 years, the elderly man (President Robert Mugabe) letting people smear him with the mud and the legacy is all but soiled, remains to be seen how this plays out to the end but I am disappointed that we are where we are today 2 years after we promised the nation's voters and am sorry to say," he said.

"But I don't see him managing to wiggle out of this one. I say "we promised" because I defended my leaders then and potrayed them as a repentant lot that had seen the light and were genuinely going to push for the betterment of the livehoods of the masses. I implore on my Country's President to salvage the little bit of what is left of his legacy and do the honourable thing."

He said he respect the fact that he (Mugabe) led during the final days of the struggle and negotiations era that gave birth to a "democratic" dispensation.

"I also acknowledge that economic management has proved to be not his strength as an individual and he has almost always appointed an ineffective team ill equipped intellectually to take on the economic challenges that we are faced with," he said.

"An inept cabinet filled mostly with politicians that lack the innovation required to move the country forward. Empty headed, slogan chanting Ministers with no clue as to how to administer their duties in the various portfolios they preside over save for a few individuals. Individuals appointed more for their loyalty than for their capabilities."

Kuveya said recycled deadwood that have no proven track record of success over decades and are totally unrepentant for the damage their decisions or lack of, have caused to the suffering citizens.

"Insensitive public office bearers who care only for lining their pockets with looted state resources at the expense of nation building and economic reforms," said Kuveya. "The people have suffered immensely because of these so called "patriots" patriotism should be towards Zimbabwe and not individuals and Zimbabwe is not a party but belongs to ALL citizens irregardless of age, gender, tribe, race, colour or creed."

He said the children of Zimbabwe are suffering yet leaders turn a seemingly blind eye to their woes and instead concerntrate on petty and selfish power struggles.

"We have blamed the team members over the years as being incompetent but I say today that even the "coach" needs to be examined as he has always appointed the same ineffective individuals who have perennially failed to deliver. Enough is enough! Arise Zimbabwe and unite in the fight to salvage what is left of our once vibrant economy and join in the struggle to restore our nations pride! Together, yes we can!"
