Former Masvingo provincial chairman and MP for Gutu Central, Lovemore Matuke, has been named as the House majority chief whip-elect.
Matuke is expected to replace Joram Gumbo, who was appointed Transport minister during the latest Cabinet reshuffle.
The appointment, which is yet to be communicated to the National Assembly, was announced by President Robert Mugabe during last week's politburo meeting.
Zanu-PF spokeperson Simon Khaya Moyo confirmed the development.
