A Gokwe magistrate was yesterday put to shame in court when a 21-year-old prostitute shared intimate details of her sexual encounter with him, accusing him of failing to pay his dues.
Melody Hamandawana told Harare provincial magistrate Mr Vakayi Chikwewe that she did not rob Shepherd Munjanja but that he was her sex client.
"I am a prostitute and the complainant approached me when I was standing at the corner of 8th and Central Avenue in the Avenues area.
"He asked me how much a short time of sex was. I told him it was $10 but he insisted he only had $5 and I agreed to engage in sex with him for that price," she said.
Hamandawana told the court that Munjanja asked for a blow j.ob before sex and she told him that it would cost him more money.
"He agreed to pay me $15 for the blow j.ob but he indicated that he had $5 and we would go to withdraw the balance at the bank.
"As we were leaving the room, Chipo started quarrelling with the complainant saying he had not paid her the last time he had slept with her," she said.
She told the court that Chipo joined them in the cab that ferried them to Stanbic Bank where Munjanja had said he would withdraw the money.
He, however, ran away from them.
"When we got into the banking hall he pretended like he wanted to make a withdrawal and ran away leaving us in the bank.
"That is when he rushed to the police," she said.
Munjanja denied everything that Hamandawana said and maintained that she and her colleagues had ganged up on him and robbed him of his belongings during the time he was at Treckerel Court.
Allegations are that on October 26 this year, Munjanja was approached by a man who claimed to have a tyre and rim for sale.
It is alleged that the man lured Munjanja to Treckerel Court.
The flat is used as a brothel but the man lied to Munjanja that there were offices.
The man allegedly shoved Munjanja into a room where Hamandawana and two other women were waiting for him.
Hamandawana and her accomplices allegedly assaulted Munjanja, accusing him of having raped one of them the last time he had visited the brothel.
Hamandawana and her accomplices went on to steal $156, bank cards, fuel coupons worth $179, a driver's licence, car keys and a note pad, it is alleged.
They ordered Munjanja to go to the bank to withdraw more money. Munjanja, in the company of Hamandawana, hired a taxi and headed for Stanbic Bank.
When the taxi dropped them off, Munjanja took to his heels.
Hamandawana was later arrested after Munjanja reported the matter to the police.
Only valuables worth $180 were recovered.
Ms Venancia Mutake prosecuted.
