Social media ban gets thumbs up

The Zanu-PF politburo's ban on the use of social media by members to communicate party issues or denigrate each other Is progressive and will help instill discipline in the party.

The Zanu-PF Youth League as well as other affiliate party organisations like the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWA) and ZILWACO have also thrown their weight behind the resolution to ban social media use, which is with immediate effect.

Previously, the Zimbabwe Republic Police have also raised concerns over the same issue, saying that social media could destabilize the country.

Analysts have described the resolution as progressive.
