Mugabe's nephew gives Herald ultimatum
24 Feb 2016 at 07:16hrs | Views
Economic Empowerment and Indigenisation minister Patrick Zhuwao has given the Herald an ultimatum to publish an apology following an article written by Herald columnist Reason Wafawarova.
Zhuwao wrote to The Herald editor, Ceasar Zvayi through his lawyers Dube-Banda, Nzirayapenga and Partners, demanding an apology within 48 hours.
The minister is contesting the contents of an article titled, "Zanu-PF: Unite or perish."
He argues that the article portrayed him as a person who promoted conflict, disunity and was pushing for the destruction of Zanu-PF and wishing for Mugabe's death.
The letter also said that the statements in the article were defamatory and sought to portray him as a tribalist, bearing divisive and treasonous tendencies.
