A Zanu PF youth member Fidelis Fengu has said nmow is the time Zimbabwean government must swallow its pride and re-engage the west for economic revival if it does not want to facilitate its crumbling.
This comes in the wake of Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor John Mangudya having announced that they will introduce higher denominations of bond notes such as $5, $10, $20. The development has been viewed by many as a sign that the country's economy is going back the the 2008 hyper-inflationary period.
"The Bond notes in my view are an SOS signal from RBZ , they gave the first sign on bond coins we ignored now the call for help is louder and if ignored we will sink as a nation," said Fengu.
"Isn't it time for a national sit down to discuss the economy , our problems are bigger than a Cabinet reshuffle. We cant afford a GNU part 2 unless if we decide to become a Nollywood movie as a nation."
He said his thinking is the country need to re-engage the West at the highest level possible ask the Danish , Swedes or Germans to lead the process.
"In all honesty we need help as a nation , we need our industries back on track , we need good global ratings , we need the Bretton Woods Institutions in our corner , we need to go back to 1982 what did we do right back then and draw inspiration from there," he said.
