The Zimbabwe Republic Police in Masvingo Chivi District have banned the MDC district Assembly planned and scheduled for Saturday 05 November 2011.

One police officer named Mawadza communicated to Sibusisiwe Tamirepi who is the Chairlady of the Province that the Officer Commanding the district said he can't allow the MDC to have a meeting because he is only aware that Zimbabwe has one political party called ZANU PF .The MDC condemns this fascist behaviour of the police force which is a reminder of the fallen dictatorship  the world over where the security forces have become a law unto themselves .There can be no further confirmation that our beloved country is degenerating into a police state .

This diabolic act strengthens the cause for security sector reform .As a party we urge all other police officers to serve the state loyally and peacefully through upholding the national laws but however those that wish to be Political Commissar of ZANU PF should quickly exchange their uniforms for ZANU PF t-shirts and we will quickly treat them as such.

As a party we wish to make it known to all and sundry at the creation of a just and fair Zimbabwe is now a  road sign to the people`s kingdom. There is no amount of abuse to our structures and banning of our meetings that will derail the struggle for democracy.
