BULAWAYO Provincial Minister of State Nomthandazo Eunice Moyo has invited 15 "serious business persons" to be part of a government delegation heading for China next month to explore investment opportunities. Macro-Economic Planning and Investment Promotion Minister Dr Obert Mpofu will lead the delegation, which will be drawn from different provinces.
Minister Moyo said officials from local authorities and provincial ministers would visit China from July 10 to 15 with 15 slots reserved for the business community. She said those who were passionate about the city's development should come aboard.
"We're going to consider those who come first. It's going to be on a first come and first serve basis. It's open to anyone who wants to develop the city and create business opportunities for themselves," said Minister Moyo. She, however, said those who want to travel must be able to fund themselves.
"We want to know who we're going to be travelling with by June 25. The businesspersons who want to be part of our delegation should be in a position to fund their trip. We can only facilitate that they acquire visas among other documentation," she said.
Minister Moyo urged the business community from Bulawayo to grab the opportunity to travel to the Asian economic giant as the trip can create vast opportunities for them.
"We'll be going to a very industrialised province so this trip will capacitate them with information to grow their businesses. They'll also create developmental bridges for Bulawayo as the city's industrial resuscitation is on the Government's agenda," said the minister. She said those interested should visit her office at the Mhlahlandlela Government Complex in Bulawayo.
They can contact her personal assistant Sichelesile Moyo Ncube on 09-887593, direct line 09-880935 or mobile phone 0772131984.
