A Zanu-PF lawmaker has arrogantly advocated for people who cannot afford medical care to consult traditional healers.

During Parliament's Wednesday question and answer time, Zanu-PF Member of Parliament for Uzumba, Simbaneuta Mudarikwa, shouted that people should go to traditional healers, after MDC MP for St Mary's Unganai Tarusenga asked what government was doing to assist people who could not afford medical services.

"Endai kun'anga, (go to traditional healers)" shouted Mudarikwa from the back before he stood up and walked out of Parliament.

Kuwadzana East MP Nelson Chamisa then stood with a point of order, asking Mudarikwa to withdraw his statement as the issue of the affordability of health facilities is a serious matter.

"It is bad for people to go to traditional healers, the other time others went to Chinhoyi Caves to look for diesel because they had believed in such n'angas. I am saying he should withdraw his statement because that is a problem to government," Chamisa said.
