The Zanu-PF Politburo meets in Harare on Wednesday to discuss economic matters as well as issues affecting the party.

Pending disciplinary cases are also expected to be on the agenda. Zanu-PF secretary for administration Ignatius Chombo, yesterday confirmed Wednesday's meeting.

"The Politburo will meet at the party headquarters in Harare on Wednesday," he said.

"Members should be seated by 10am. It's a routine meeting and the agenda will be shown to the members when they come."

The National Disciplinary Committee, chaired by secretary for legal affairs Patrick Chinamasa, is expected to present reports of disciplinary cases it has dealt with.

The newly established Zanu-PF National Appeals Committee led by Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko, is also expected to present a progress report on the cases it has tackled.

The appeals committee was set up to review cases of party members who felt hard done by verdicts against them.

The committee convened last Friday and indications are that the number of cases waiting to be dealt with has ballooned to more than 60. More than 200 cadres were expelled and suspended beginning 2014 in the wake of growing factionalism and ill- discipline caused by a cabal led by former Vice President Joice Mujuru.

Most members of the Mujuru cabal, that plotted to topple President Mugabe, were expelled from Zanu-PF.

Scores of party members were given votes of no confidence, leading to their expulsion or suspension.
