Hungwe described the recent intended two days shut down as a major flop and retrogressive with no economic benefits.

He took the opportunity to explain the Statutory Instrument 64 of 2016 and the government's focus on retooling and capacitating the local industry.

He also said the government is focusing on maximising land productivity this coming season with full utilisation of all water bodies for irrigation purposes as a top priority.

Hungwe underscored that value addition and beneficiation is crucial to enhance local industrial capacity utilisation and performance which will also result in employment creation.

All the seven political administrative districts in Manicaland province held their inter district meetings to inform cadres on the various government programmes and progress made so far.
