Former top cop and current Zanu PF member of parliament Oliver Mandipaka has admitted that 2008 elections where violent.

However, he said the level of violence "was not that bad" a parliamentary Hansard seen by Bulawayo24.com quoted him saying on Tuesday.

"We are aware that in 2008, when there was violence, this violence was not attributed to a single political party" he said.

"Other political parties also are involved in violence and may even hurt members of other political parties.

"It was not that bad to the extent that our elections could have been declared unfair,".

"Zimbabwe cannot be heaven and cannot have angels. We are all humans and at times we may tend to have differences".

Scores of MDC-T supporters where reportedly killed by ZANU PF members.

However, at the President Robert Mugabe scornfully dismissed the reports of attacks by Zanu PF as "damn lies" and instead shifted the blame for the violence onto the MDC-T.

Churches and other civic society organisations reported that thousands of MDC-T supporters became homeless after their houses were burnt down by Zanu PF youths.
