Zanu-PF braces for Norton by-election

Zanu-PF is warming up to the impending Norton parliamentary by-election that fell vacant following the expulsion of Christopher Mutsvangwa from the party and parliament.
The Zanu-PF Mashonaland West provincial executive has since convened a constituency inter-district meeting in Norton to brief its membership on the forthcoming by-election.
Candidates willing to take part in the primary elections to choose the party's candidate have since been invited to submit their curriculum vita by tomorrow, Wednesday 27 July.
The Mashonaland West Provincial Elections Directorate is also expected to sit and deliberate on the list of candidates to vie for the primary elections.
Mashonaland West Provincial Chairman, Ephraim Chengeta implored the prospective candidates to self introspect and see if they fit in the scheme of things or withdraw from the race before wasting resources and time.
The vice chairman, Keith Guzah indicated that the quota system rule will not be used in the Norton primary elections.
The province's Secretary for Science and Technology, Dr Godfrey Gandawa urged party supporters to have national identification cards which are required before registering as voters.
