Mnangagwa allies face expulsion

With embattled vice president Emerson Mnangagwa moving to publicly disown his allies under growing pressure from his party foes, the generation 40 group ,the midlands godfather's supporters are facing the dreaded chop from the warring ruling Zanu-PF.
The news comes amid reports that the Zimbabwe national Liberation war veterans association faction that is led by the under-fire Christopher Mutsvangwa has been going around the country meeting, which G40 claim are aimed are aimed forcing the president Robert Mugabe from power in favour Mnangagwa.
The meetings by former freedom fighters are said to have culminated in the recent get-together which came out with a scathing communique demanding Mugabe's immediate resignation.
Mnangagwa has said he has no association with the so called Lacoste group linked to a plot to either topple or succeed President Mugabe and has reaffirmed his long standing relationship and loyalty to President Mugabe.
He said he ha a personal relationship with President Mugabe that date back to 1960s and 1970s when he was the special assistant to the President.
Mnangagwa had been fingered in the plot on two separate public rants with Zanu-PF women Mandi Chimene and Sarah Mahoka.
