Potraz ban mobile networks airtime promotions

Telecoms regulator - Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) has reportedly forced mobile networks Econet Wireless, Telecel and NetOne to suspend their air time promotions.

The state owned mobile network operator, NetOne issued a press statement announcing the suspension of its Data Bundles Reloaded and Bundles Reappear Promotions.

The suspension will take effect today at 6pm.

It is understood that in recent weeks, Econet and Telecel have been advising their clients of an indefinite suspension on specific promotions following the instruction issued by POTRAZ.

No explanation has been provided by POTRAZ for the directive and the operators have so far failed to give the reason behind it.

Econet is currently running the popular 7x promotion, Bundles of Joy , buddy family and friends, the Daily, Weekly and Monthly data bundle.
