Epworth residents reportedly clashed recently over the amount of money they were required to pay for the installation of electricity.
Zimbabwe Peace Project reported that on 18 June Epworth ward 7 residents had a development meeting.
"A quarrel arose over the amount of money they were proposing to contribute towards the installation of electricity. The meeting ended up being a political meeting after Zanu PF party chairperson Muroyiwa and other party officials took over forcing people to pay $25 per month although people wanted to pay $10 due to economic hardships," ZPP reported.
"They chanted Zanu PF slogans denouncing opposition party leaders. All those who were opposing $25 were said to be opposition party supporters and were threatened with beatings."
