Zanu PF announces candidates for Norton, Bikita West primaries

Zanu PF has announced the list of candidates approved to contest in the primary elections to choose candidates who will represent the party in the parliamentary by-elections for Norton and Bikita West constituencies.

Zanu PF National Political Commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere said nine candidates have been approved to take part in the Norton primary election to choose a candidate who will represent the party in the forthcoming parliamentary by-election following the ouster of Christopher Mutsvangwa.

"The candidates for Norton primary elections are Ronald Chindedza, Margret Zvinavashe, Bybit Tsomondo, Joyce Mukazhi, Nyasha Sibiya, Langton Mutendereki, Godfrey Chikowore, Nyarai Makamba and Flavain Charumbira," said Kasukuwere.

"There are 10 candidates for Bikita West and these are Godfrey Murire, Gibson Mashingaidze, Joshua Dehwa, Beauty Chabaya, Wellington Mutisi, Elias Musakwa, Tichaona Mandebvu, Douglas Makuku, Simon Masosonore and Daniel Makusha," he added.

The Bikita West seat fell vacant following the arrest of Dr Munyaradzi Kereke who was convicted for rape and sentenced to serve an effective 10 years behind bars.

Voting will be based on the party's cell and village membership registers and shall be by secret ballot.
