Leaders of the Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe who were arrested and charged with criminal nuisance last week in Murehwa have been released and will continue with their 200 km march to hand over a petition to Education Minister Lazarus Dokora this week.

The unionists, led by Obert Masaraure, were marching from Mutawatawa to Harare when they were arrested on August 17 at Rukunguhwe borehole, 15km from Murehwa Center.

The teachers who are supposed to hand over a petition to the ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and the Public Service Commission were charged with criminal nuisance when they appeared at Murehwa Magistrates Court.
