Zanu-PF heavyweights lead conference preps

The Zanu-PF Masvingo provincial coordinating committee has tasked a team of ruling party heavyweights to spearhead mobilisation of donations for the Annual National People's Conference to be hosted by the province in December.

Dates for the annual indaba are still to be announced, but the ruling party's decision-making body has already endorsed Masvingo Showgrounds as the venue for the conference.

The ruling party in Masvingo has set a target to raise $50 000 and about 50 beasts for the conference that is expected to draw over 5 000 delegates from across the country and beyond.

At least 10 sub-committees were set up to prepare for the conference with mobilisation of the needed resources.

Zanu-PF Masvingo acting provincial chairmane Amasa Nhenjana said a team comprising heavyweights in the province led by Politburo member Josaya Hungwe and Zimbabwe Chiefs' Council president Chief Fortune Charumbira had been set up to lead the mobilisation of donations.
