Zanu PF vote buying tactics backfired in Norton

University of Zimbabwe lecturer Sheunesu Mupepereki has said Zanu PF election vote buying tactics are now outdated.
Mupepereki said the electorate could not be enticed by residential stands in Norton.
"The first thing is they should not take voters for granted, because people watch what will be happening and make assessments," he said.
"Corruption is at the forefront of everyone's mind and attempts to try to defend something that requires the law to take its course will take the party nowhere.
"Stands only came when elections were upon the people," he said.
Zanu PF rolled out residential stands last week but warned to repossess them in the event of a defeat.
Zanu PF's Ronald Chindedza lost to independent candidate Temba Mliswa.
Mliswa garnered 8 927 votes against Chindedza's 6 192.
