Zanu-PF to self destruct, Sekeremayi warn

Zanu-PF is on the brink of collapse due to long running internal  fights centering on succession, Zanu-PF secretary for war veterans, Sydney Sekeramayi has warned.

Sekeramayi said the party's enemies have failed to destroy the party but members will eventually collapse it.

"Our enemies have failed to destroy us, but if we want to destroy our party, what will our enemy say? he asked during a weekend meeting with war veterans on Mutare.

"Let us  sit down and resolve our differences. In Democratic Republic of Congo and Libya, people are fighting each other, let us avoid going there".

Zanu-PF is clearly divided into two camps - a G40 and Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa's Team Lacoste.

President Robert Mugabe has mot named his preferred replacement but has vowed not to retire.

Zanu-PF has long picked him as its 2018 presidential election candidate.

He would be 94 when elections are held.
