President Robert Mugabe has said people are free to tell him that he is plundering and he should quit.
He said he is prepared to retire 'properly', state media reported.
"If I am making blunders you should tell me... I will go. If I have to retire, let me retire properly," he told a handful of former liberation fighters on Saturday.
Mugabe (92) said the country is in "a critical time for regime change".
However, he has always maintained that he would die in office.
Zanu-PF has picked Mugabe as its 2018 presidential candidate and if he is re-elected, he will only retire in 2023, when he turns 99.
